FanPay Link’s selected agency example uses a 9.5% fan fee and 7.5% agency fee, both based on listed price. Combined fees are 17% of list price before cent rounding.
Ask what each percentage applies to.
A fee on listed price, a fee on total buyer payment and a share of adjusted net receipts use different bases. Write the base beside the percentage. Fixed charges, subscription costs and tax on fees need separate lines.
For FanPay Link’s $10 agency example, the fan fee is $0.95 and the agency deduction is $0.75. The fan pays $10.95; the agency balance is $9.25 before other costs and creator splits. The $1.70 gap is about 15.53% of the fan payment, not 17% of that payment.
Include the cent rounding.
The illustrative calculations round each fee on each transaction. At $5, the agency fee rounds from $0.375 to $0.38 and the fan fee from $0.475 to $0.48. That leaves $4.62 and a $5.48 fan total.
When reconciling a month, add those rounded transaction results. Applying a percentage to the whole month once can create a difference. Keep this distinction visible when comparing your calculation with transaction records.
Compare one offer across the shortlist.
The direct comparisons distinguish Fangate’s fixed charge, Dropp’s categories, Exclu’s plans and LinkPay’s adjusted-receipts base. The exact account terms can differ from a public example, so confirm the schedule you will actually use.
| Input | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Offer | Same content category, currency and listed price? |
| Fan fee | Percentage, fixed amount, tax or method-specific charge? |
| Seller deduction | Which base, percentage and fixed charge? |
| Subscription | Monthly or annual plan and additional profile costs? |
| Payout | Transfer cost, minimum, reserve or timing conditions? |
| Split | Which remaining amount enters an agency-creator split? |
Do not confuse gross fees with profit.
The platform’s fee gap is before its own payment-processing, validation, delivery, fraud and operating costs. It is not a margin estimate. Likewise, an agency balance is before any creator split, taxes, refunds and payout costs.
Keep transaction economics separate from payout availability. A balance calculation can be correct while the date money reaches a bank remains a separate contractual question.
Compare fees on the same base.
Record list price, fan fee, seller deduction, fixed charges, subscription and payout costs separately.
